I started this website in 1999, with the aim of informing people about Addison's Disease and also to provide support to those suffering from this condition. It is a very rare condition and it is easy to feel isolated and alone, particularly when you realise that many doctors and hospitals might have seen very few- if any - cases of the condition.

I set up a database where people could leave their details. One of my concerns has always been needing specialist help in a foreign country. I hoped that a list of international contacts might meet this concern.

I have now added a forum which I hope some of you will find useful.

Forum
As some of you may have noticed, the forum has increasingly become the target of "spam" of a very unpleasant nature. While I have tried my best to clear it every morning, there are times when I am not able to. I have reluctantly decided to temporarily close the forum while I look at solutions to this problem. There are limits to how much time I can spend every day and how much aggravation I am prepared to put up with.
I might consider a closed type of forum where it is necessary to enter a password. It would mean that users would have to email me first with details of their interest in Addisons.
I am sorry that this is necessary, as I always wished the forum to be openly available. It is a sad reflection on our society that there are so many people who are prepared to abuse a forum in this way.
