The Panda Bear These creatures can only be found in China and it is estimated there are only about 1,600 left in the world! WWF are trying to raise the number, but Panda’s are still being threateed by poachers. The Panda bear clings to its life. In the papers it reported a panda to have had twins, which is expecially rare for pandas. Panda’s have only ever been known to have one cub at a time. The mother seems to have rejected one of the cub’s. It is clinging to life, WWF are trying to nurse it though. She is very small, lets hope she survives.
Panda Projects Panda Survey In June 2004 the Chinese government released the results of the panda survey classifying there only to be 1,600 pandas left in the wild. Monitoring and Patrolling WWF are organizing patrolling and monitoring, which will help stop illegal poaching and hunting. Qinling Panda Focal Project WWF have been working together to create new Panda reserves and establish new wildlife corridors to enlarge the protected habitat for the panda population in Qinling.
