Elephants

Elephants are lovely big creatures and are kind by nature.

They are the largest land animal , with the adult weighing up to six tons or more. Out of the two, the African elephant is lager and more plentiful than the Asian elephant but both are endangered.

Among their many uses their trunks are used as snorkels, swatting flies, itching, and generally having fun, because that is what wild animals should be able to do, rather than have to be careful all the time and have their friends taken away from them.
There are 300,000 to 600,000 African elephants around (in 37 range countries) and 35,000 to 50,000 Asian elephants (in 13 range countries.)

Elephant Projects
The African Elephant Program
In 2000 WWF launched a new Program, building on 40 years of experiance in elephant conservation.
The Program aims to conserve forests and savanna elephant habitats across the country. Hopefully this will help the elephants.
